Interior Design combines aesthetics with technological expertise and enables one to transform space into a pleasurable ambience. Interior Design is the manifestation of the human being’s innate desire for aesthetics. In the modern era, with shrinking space, especially in the urban areas, ambient functionality of living spaces has taken precedence over all other considerations. Optimum use of a built-in-space is one of the chief requirements of the end-users, be it in the housing or commercial sectors.
It is with the comprehensive knowledge of building materials and construction methods that an interior designer can collate form and function to create an integrated and harmonious interior. Interior Design combines the very many elements like form, colour, light, texture, pattern with the principles of design like scale, balance and rhythm to create an aesthetically pleasing and highly functional space. An Interior designer, therefore, must be trained in the Arts and Sciences of Space & Building Science and Professional Education specific to Interior Design.
