“All work and no play, makes jack a dull boy”. Haven’t we all heard this proverb when growing up? It means that work without fun can ruin your creativity and pull you down. Thus at Hamstech, we try to blend a little of both to receive a result that’s beyond extraordinary.
Hamstech Institute of Fashion & Interior Design has been a supporter and promoter of creative education for the past 25 years. The institute is a combination of creativity, knowledge, skill and fun. Along with theoretical sessions on the subject, practical activities like fashion shows, exhibitions and site visits are a part of the curriculum, which promotes students’ work on a professional level.
The year 2016-2017 has been an eventful year for Hamstech’s students and faculty. Students from all the four departments – Fashion Design, Interior Design, Jewellery Design and Photography, received numerous opportunities to showcase their creativity.
The year 2016 started with tremendous enthusiasm shown by the 1st and 2nd year fashion designing students who performed a fabulous skit on the History of Fashion. The skit exhibited garments from the Victorian, Egyptian and Byzantine era.
Such annual skits initiated by Hamstech results in boosting student’s confidence and knowledge.
During the course tenure, students are taught everything from designing to sewing their own garments. Hamstech’s diploma course in fashion designing has a vast curriculum that includes subjects like textiles design (fibre identification), fashion styling and pattern making & garment creation. These subjects are a complete guide to fashion designing.
Apart from fashion and interior designing, Hamstech is also known as one of the best jewellery designing institute in Hyderabad.
It was towards the end of 2016, when students from the jewellery designing department held “Alankaran”, a jewellery exhibition show & sale. The objective of the exhibition & sale was to encourage and bring out the creative skills of young and talented jewellery designers.
The event was a grand success and established a learning platform for students.
While this dazzling exhibition marked the end of 2016, the beginning of 2017 witnessed a series of interesting events.
Interior designing students participated in a free workshop, titled “Swatch Board”. The workshop was organized with an objective to impart hand-on training to students of Hamstech. Such workshops work to their advantage as well as develop self-confidence.
Another interesting event was a site visit organized by Hamstech for its photography students. A trip to the Araku Valley was scheduled with an aim to give students a practical exposure.
The site visit worked to the advantage of every students as it helped them build a unique perspective.
Hamstech, unlike other photography training institutes is very student oriented. Their primary aim is to give every individual an opportunity to exhibit their talent.
