“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow”. Anthony J. D’Angelo, VP of Sales and Marketing at InterTrade Systems Inc. thus beautifully expresses the importance of education and learning.
Following the new educational system and implementing the new methodologies, Hamstech Institute of Creative Education has always attempted to provide creative education to a deserving young generation. In the process, along with the many innovative practice and research oriented methods of learning, it helps students find new grounds of learning even overseas.
Hamstech has been imparting, for over two decades, creative courses in domains of interior designing, fashion design, jewellery designing and photography. There’s a reason the courses we provide are among the most sort-after ones.
To give you an idea about that, let’s introduce you to an 18 months’ fashion designing course that Hamstech has formulated, which includes a 3-week immersion programme in Singapore. Courses such as these are devised to give students the golden opportunity to get industry-based knowledge that even takes them overseas.
To evaluate the experience of the immersion programme in Singapore, Hamstech’s fourth-year fashion design students were sent there to go through the programme that was scheduled from 6th to 24th November 2017. Hamstech in collaboration with MDIS (Management Development Institute of Singapore) had planned the 3-week training program. The training was conducted by two faculties from MDIS – Ms. Irene Lee. A and Ms. Kym Low LH. The prerequisite skills for students in the immersion programme were basic pattern making and sewing.
The students were engaged in topics viz. introduction to 3D magic pattern drafting, introduction to design development, selection of outfit design, draping basic bodice and skirt block, transferring drape to paper pattern and fabric marbling techniques. The minimum duration of classes was 30 minutes and the maximum duration was 3 hours.
Apart from the classroom training, students also got to visit museums (Art Science Museum & National Gallery Singapore), Textiles streets (Arab Street, Chinatown, Spotlight, Mustafa) and Art Tools. These places gave students an understanding of Singapore’s lifestyle and culture.
The overseas exposure also brought the realization of opportunities in international fashion industry to Hamstech’s fashion design students. The new level of confidence and determination instilled by the Singapore experience helped the students to enthusiastically move ahead to getting mentored by Mrs. Neeta Lulla as planned in the curriculum.
Hamstech has, with such innovative programmes, proven itself again as undisputedly one of the top fashion designing institutes in Hyderabad.
With its first batch of students bringing very positive responses about the course and the Singapore programme, Hamstech looks forward to make more of such programs that will benefit many students like never before.
