Fashion design is gaining increasing popularity. June is one such month where the dog days of summer are at the cusp of pelting rains. Amidst this summer-monsoon transition, we take get-away trips with friends and family or just revamp the wardrobe to refresh ourselves.
So, let’s steer away from the regular style and embrace this June by choosing apparel that’s comfortable, unique and stylish.
As most of us know, seasonal fashion keeps changing. So, why spend much on shopping? All you need to do is mix-and-match whatever you have from your existing wardrobe and create a style that best suits the current season.
So we asked some of Hamstech’s very own fashionistas who are pursuing their diploma course in fashion designing, about how to transition from summer to monsoon in style!
Here’s what we dug out:
The fusion style: Dhoti pants
Firstly, the dhoti pants have been a signature style of the rural Indian men. With the gradual evolution of fashion, now this style has been adapted by both men and women respectively.
Secondly, for this mid-season look, combine the dhoti pants with a short kurta or a crop-top. You can team these with bright accessories and jootis.
White Button-down shirt
Above all, a white button down shirt is a must-have for all seasons! It is one of the most versatile clothing that can effortlessly be paired with just about any outfit.
All things considered, you can pair it with blue denim or earthy khakhi shorts. You’ll never go wrong with this style. To add an edge to your look, drape a silk scarf around the shirt collar, put on your canvas sneakers and kick-off the day with sunglasses brushing back your hair!
A flattering off-shoulder dress
These days a lot of people enjoy stitching their own casual day dresses. It’s actually fun! In case you’re not good with the needle, you could always enrol in fashion design classes. To create the perfect mid-season look, you could use the tones of the monsoon’s grey and blue shades before adding a bright ruffled or pleated off-shoulder neckline for contrast.
You can combine the off-shoulder dress with flip-flops/canvas sneakers, a nice sun-hat. Bright jewellery is again optional.
The Ever-green Pastels
Yes, pastels never go out of fashion. They make a great colour palette and add softness to any outfit. If you’ve ever been part of a fashion designing institute, you would understand the importance and use of colours in designing. Pair pastel colours with bold patterns or jewellery for the perfect mid-season look.
Style it your way
When it comes to fashion, why restrict it to just clothing? Hairdos can make or break your final get-up this June! Experiment with quirky styles like the double buns or messy fishtail braid. You could also twist your hair into a knot, swept to one side, or let it loose with a zany headband.
If you like to keep it really short, just go with a bob that’s most suitable for your face cut. This is easy to maintain and hassle-free.
So don’t let the lingering heat get you down or the coming downpour of monsoons scare you. All you have to do is stay fresh and stylish this June!
