Hamstech Fashion Show 2017 was a gala that featured inimitable talent and designs of Hamstech’s fashion design students. They made yet another promising display of vision and skills that were sure to take them far in their careers in the fashion industry.
Every collection that was awarded in the show had an edge of perfection in itself to match up to the accolades they were deemed to win. The collection “Just Banjara Things” won the Jury award for the best collection in the show.
The award came to be the best recognition for a collection that fused into its garments the decorative beauty of the indigenous Banjara style. Garments laid out with embroidery, mirror work and ikkat patches were featured in the collection. The mystic black garments in the collection scored high on the design front with their artistic patterns and shimmering embellishments highlighting the glam element.
The garments in the collection were crafted to elevate the rustic art into a fashion statement. Typical characteristics of the Banjara style were added and improvised on garments that were meant to adorn ladies on festive and social occasions. The bold and dark tones of the garments against which the artworks shone made perfect contrast that was the key factor to the look of the garments.
Applying the knowledge acquired from fashion designing courses at the right places, the students did a commendable job to win the deserving prize. The collection included a variety of garments including dresses, kurtis, maxis and sarees, making the collection cast a great impression on the audience. The talented designers behind the collection were Priyanka, Vasudha Golluri, Rushali Jain, Gayathri. S, Nikhya Lankala, Khyati Agarwal, Chatla Sowmya Sree and Bojadia Vasavi.
